We are a small high-tech company that designs and manufactures mid-infrared lasers. The manufacturing involves sophisticated atomic-precision machines that build up meta-materials one atomic layer at a time. After the wafers have been built up, lithography steps shape the lasers which then have to be diced, tested, and packaged. Each of these tasks requires sophisticated equipment including x-ray crystallography and electron microscopes.
These are not trivial lasers! They are used for a variety of sophisticated chemical, environmental, security, and medical tasks. Some designs incorporate multiple wavelengths into a single wafer, or utilize arrays or grids of lasers.
We need people to help us in all the different departments, from people interested in optics and setting up optical benches to people interested in packaging (dealing with heat is a constant problem!) to people interested in QA and failure analysis.
Let us know if any of this sounds interesting to you.
We are especially interested in juniors who have recently graduated with degrees in relevant fields like Physics, Applied Physics, EE or any sort of Industrial Engineering like Heat Flow or Process Control. Don't worry if you don't know the precise details of this field; as long as you have a background in Physics/Optics/Industrial Engineering and are interested in learning, we can find a slot for you.
If you already have experience in these areas, even better! We can put you to work right away!
Please be aware that some of this work is considered sensitive by the Federal Government, and so we require that all applicants be a US citizen or a green card holder.
