The Women's Guild Lung Institute offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for diseases of the lungs, esophagus, chest wall, airways and mediastinum.As our next Nurse Practitioner, you will work in collaboration with the Supervising Physician to provide pre-op and post-op assessments of patients, consults and/or follow-up care in the clinic.Essential Duties:Use a high degree of clinical competency with suture skills, equal to that of the surgeon
Demonstrate your advanced knowledge of anatomy
Contribute intelligent input into every surgical procedure
Write orders in Recovery Room, ICU and floor
Follow patients in the Medical Center and write daily progress notes
Maintain clear communication with the surgeons and any consultants regarding patient status both pre- and post-discharge
Education:Master’s of Nursing Degree (MSN) required
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required
License/Certification:Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License required
National certification as an NP required or eligible to obtain
Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required
DEA license required (or eligibility to obtain)
Experience:A minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience required
Experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred
Cardio-Thoracic and/or Trauma surgery experience preferred
