Job Description: Pharmacy TechnicianReports to: Hospital ManagerVCA West Los Angeles is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our 24 hour General, Specialty and Emergency Practice.At VCA Animal Hospitals, we take our mission statement – your pet’s health is our top priority and excellent service is our goal – very seriously. With every opportunity, we aim to exceed each pet owner’s expectations.Why We Need You:VCA Pharmacy Tech responsibilities include:
Answering the pharmacy line/Checking the voicemail consistently and processing requests
Check the pharmacy eFaxes, email, Vetsource and process requests
Fill outgoing prescriptions
Fill internal medications including intravenous medications and injectables
Fill and complete tasks on queue
Communicate effectively with a large team
Look for expired drugs/injectables in pharmacy and treatment
Restock drawers with syringes, drams, bags etc.
Restock pharmacy shelves
Restock pharmacy printers with labels and papers
Return prescriptions to inventory if they are not picked up
Keep pharmacy clean and tidy
Keep inventory in mind and communicate effectively if the hospital needs to order medicine
Give clients over the phone or in person medication consults
Assist with in hospital controlled substances
