Genuent is hiring a Quality Assurance Specialist - Operations V for our direct client in Los Angeles, CA. This is a long-term W2 contract opportunity. Qualified candidates should send their resume (Word Format) to Tallin Muskat at The Testing Engineer is focused on Quality engineering and is responsible for the overall quality throughout the application development lifecycle by creating and executing test scripts working in close collaboration with product owners, BAs and developers. Through the leadership provided by the Software Quality Assurance Leads, the Testing Engineer will collaborate with the development team and Business Analysts for overall code quality.
- Participate in scrum rituals
- Define testing related tasks and provide estimation for these tasks
- Create automation scripts for functional, web service and database testing
- Develop QA test scripts in sprint
- Execute tests and improve test coverage iteratively as new features become part of regression and other test cycles
- Analyze test execution results and identify functional defects or scripting defects for improvement
- Identify Smoke test suite and Regression test suites to ensure each build is healthy and software is functional as expected
- Ensure that components and features are fully tested in each Sprint so that the feature is complete based on the definition of done in Agile environment
- Develop, document, and maintain tests and test steps for each sprint
- Ensure the appropriate test environments and test data are in place and controlled
- Work with entire project team to conduct integration testing, system testing, and acceptance testing to ensure entire application are fully tested before production release is ready
- Provide manual and automated exploratory testing to understand the feature and how it is implemented, to find additional or unexpected behavior, and to refine and define additional test cases for the feature
- Continuous improvement - Deepen SQA, Engineering and Agile knowledge through self-study, group-study and projects
- 7+ years of Quality Engineering experience
- 2 + years of Experience testing web applications
- Must have minimum 4+ years of experience with MS SQL and relational database queries
- Experience in ETL testing using SQL Server to validate complex ETL mappings and troubleshoot data quality issues.
- Experience with complex SQL (inserts, updates, Joins, etc.)
- Must have minimum 2+ years of Testing APIs with tools and other testing frameworks
- Experience in API Testing using Postman/Ready API.
- Extensive experience in writing test cases, executing tests, and reporting defects
- Experience in testing web applications
- Experience reviewing and analyzing business requirements to determine testing needs.
- Experience creating the framework and writing regression tests for data validation using Python (Nice to have).
- Experience with Continuous Integration tools such as Azure DevOps to execute the test in Azure pipeline.
- Coordinate the development and execution of test procedures and protocols
- Experience troubleshooting, logging and analyzing test results
- Experience working with any ETL tool (ADF would be a plus)
- Extensive experience working in Agile environment
- Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail at all times
- Highly collaborative and willing to play various team roles as needed to deliver quality releases
- Ability to prioritize tasks and stay focus to complete the task
- Strong communication skills verbally and in written format
