Two COACH mobile medical units travel to schools, shelters, public housing developments and neighborhood facilities in communities across 28 Los Angeles zip codes, delivering the highest quality care.Are you ready to make a difference?As a Registered Nurse for COACH, you are responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in community setting aboard the COACH Mobile Medical Units. You will also

Provide immunization administration, urine specimen, fingerstick/venipuncture, TB placement/readings, patient/parent education, referrals to community agencies and patient follow-up.

Perform initial nursing assessment, triage and obtains medical history from patient/parent caregiver.

Direct and supervise the clinical performance of others in the role of collegial consultant and resource person.

Maintain competency skills including the ability to deliver care to underserved patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Identify safety concerns and institute measures to provide a safe environment

Provide appropriate assessment, assumes responsibility for patient advocacy and patient's rights, coordinate care for the patient and delivery team intervention and evaluation of patients with consideration of developmental milestones.

Participate in a variety of health services activities including health fairs and community events, as well as plan and coordinate and conduct small and large group health education group activities in underserved communities.

Educational Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN or higher preferred.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

Current California State RN License required

Current CA Driver's License required

BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Specialty Certification required (external applicants may obtain within one year of hire)

CPN or CEN certification preferred

Experience:

Minimum 3 years recent acute RN experience.

2 years experience working with low-income/underserved families in community setting preferred

Minimum 1 year experience working with pediatric patients preferred

Spanish language experience preferred
