ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Blood & Platelet CenterDirector, the primary duties are to plan, coordinate, and supervise allactivities in the Component Processing Laboratory. As the Senior ClinicalLaboratory Supervisor, you will serve as a core member of the Blood & PlateletCenter management team to provide oversight for operations, provide excellentcustomer service, maintain a positive work environment, and achievedepartmental goals. Primary duties include:line-break"Direct supervision of approximately 15 Hospital Laboratory TechniciansEnsure compliance with AABB, FDA, CAP, JC, and CDPH regulatory requirementsCoordination of blood inventory management between CPL and Transfusion Services in RRUCLA and SMUCLAWhole blood fractionation, platelet processing, pooled cryoprecipitate manufacturing, Auto/Directed donor processing, blood labeling, and blood component quality control and testingWork with the Lab Director to set budgetary goals/expendituresQualificationsCurrent California Clinical Lab Scientist license4 years of laboratory experience as a CLSKnowledge of immunohematology testing and blood product preparation/processing.Management and leadership skills such as planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the work of others.Must be able to work cooperatively as a member of a team and maintain a positive humanistic attitude.Specialist in Blood Bank (SBB) certificate, preferredFour years recent experience in Blood Bank, preferredAcademic background, practical experience, and teaching ability in Blood Bank, preferredCurrent knowledge of AABB, FDA, CAP, JC, CDPH, CLIA, CLSI and Cal OSHA guidelines and regulations for blood bank laboratories, preferredUCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
