- If selected, there might be a background check that includes a drug screen (usually 4-panel-excluding marijuana) and sometimes credit checks for financial clients.
- Most companies might also have a vaccine mandate, so once hired, we (or the client) will ask for proof of vaccination if required. If you are not vaccinated, we/they might ask you to work with them on a religious or medical exemption if necessary.
- During the first 30 days: Get familiar insurance accounting, and learn internal systems like PeopleSoft, GSA, and Excel-based subledgers.
- During the first3 months: Contribute to month-end close performed by our accounting/finance team within the first 5 days of the month. Responsibilities will include analyzing data, compiling financial information, and preparing journal entries to record activity into the general ledger. After the month-end close, prepare various balance sheet account reconciliations by the 20th of each month.
- During the first 6 months and beyond: In addition to the above, gain extensive knowledge and understanding of different areas of financial reporting such as direct, assumed, and ceded premium and loss accounting. Assist in preparing various internal and external. As knowledge is gained, additional projects will be assigned for development and growth.
