As a daytime and nighttime Line Cook at a.o.c, you are responsible for showing up at your scheduled shift

on time and in a clean, full uniform. This uniform must include a hat, chef shirt and

apron. In addition to this, you must have an up to date food handler’s card and

follow proper sanitation guidelines at all times when working in the kitchen.

As a member of a.o.c, we promote and environment of working as a cohesive team, helping out your other team members when they need help and, in turn, they will help you. At the end of your scheduled shift, you must

scrub down your station and check out with the chef on duty to make sure your prep

list completed.

Requirements as a Line Cook (not limited to and subject to change)

You will be in charge of completing your daily prep list each and every shift.

You are also responsible for maintaining a clean station, consolidating as you go

throughout your shift, and keeping all walk-ins and reach-ins clean, while following

FIFO (first in first out).

REPORTS TO: Executive Chef Suzanne Goin, Chef de Cuisine Javier Espinoza and Sous Chefs

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 2 years experience as a Pantry and line Cook.

Food handling certificate.

Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.

Compute basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers).

Provide legible communication.

Expand and condense recipes.

Comprehend and follows various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.

Ability to:

Work flexible schedules and willing and able to work shift duties that may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays

Collaborate with colleagues in a professional and respectful manner.

Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.

Prioritize and organize.

Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement.

Follow directions thoroughly.

Work cohesively with colleagues as part of a team.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Main Kitchen and Prep Kitchen

Job involves working:

Under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold).

Under variable noise levels.

Around fumes and/or odor hazards.

Around cleaning chemicals.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.

Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.

Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
