Sushi Cook for a Japanese Cuisine – Hand roll and Izakaya bar by Akira Back
Who We Are:
We are a new intimate handroll and izakaya bar concept in Koreatown, working with renowned chef Akira Back. The menu will feature specialty handrolls, izakaya, desserts, and alcoholic beverages.
About the Position:
Part time and full time position pays minimum wage, plus customer tips/gratuities. Earn up to $20-$28 per hour, although this is an estimated pay and may vary.
The Sushi cook understands that customer satisfaction always takes top priority and that a pleasant, efficient restaurant operation with a properly trained and motivated supporting staff makes that possible. Knowing that your energy, attitude, and overall enthusiasm as a station leader will set the standard for the team. The cook will always act in the best interest of the company, its team, its associates, its guests, its community, and its ownership.
Core Duties:
Regularly taking inventory of food supplies and other products for ordering.
Participate in FOH daily lineups and staff training of the menu with daily tasting.
Expertly cutting, slicing, and filleting different types of fish.
Responsible for ordering product / supply for sushi station
Inspecting the quality of proteins, fruits, vegetables, and fish used to prepare sushi dishes and informing the CDC when quality is sub-standard.
To properly store seafood by always keeping it on ice and changing containers nightly.
Experience:
Restaurant experience: 2 years minimum

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
