Hayes, Ortega & Sánchez is a union-side labor law firm in search of a part-time Law Office Assistant for our satellite office in Monrovia, CA.
Duties Include:
1. Proofing and formatting documents: This requires a good command of the English language and attention to detail.
2. Calendaring: Updating, tracking, and entering on the calendar program (CLIO) the dates for hearings, arbitrations, and court appearances. Calendar management requires good organization skills and attention to detail.
3. Hearing Arrangements: Communicate with arbitrators, hearing officers, opposing counsel, court reporters, and witnesses regarding pending administrative hearings.
4. Travel Arrangements: Arranging for hotels and transportation for attorneys appearing out of town.
5. Answering incoming phone calls and emails, responding to inquiries, greeting visitors and clients.
6. Maintaining records and appropriate documentation.
7. Copying and preparing exhibits for administrative hearings.
Seeking candidates with:
Experience working in an office; or better, previously working in a law office.
Spanish proficiency (not required).
Requirements:
Ability to review and proofread documents.
Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to draft correspondence and prepare reports using correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Ability to handle tasks while working with minimal supervision.
Ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Hours: Part-time, 20 hours per week with the flexibility to schedule your four-hour day in either mornings or afternoons, Monday through Friday.
Hourly Rate: Thirty dollars per hour ($30.00/hr.)
