Fast growing law firm in San Fernando Valley has an immediate opening for a full-time Paralegal / Legal Assistant / Law Clerk. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience. We are looking for someone who is punctual, organized, responsible, takes pride in their work, and has a professional demeanor. Must be able to multi-task, think critically, and have exceptional attention to detail.

In this position, the applicant will perform a wide range of secretarial, administrative, and clerical tasks to assist the attorneys. These duties may include but are not limited to:

- Have knowledge and understanding of the Courts and the new filing systems;

- Prepare templates for pleadings, discovery, notices, demand letters, and other legal documents;

- Strong time management skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently;

- Excellent proofreading skills;

- Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail;

- Having the ability to negotiate settlements and liens;

- Prepare both pre-trial and trial documents / binders;

- File documents with the Federal Court using E-Filing and ECF;

- Manage clients, manage attorneys’ work-load, and track and process firm invoices;

- File documents and maintain organized electronic and physical files;

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; demonstrated understanding of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation;

- Ability to work independently; and

- Be familiar with the State and Federal Court systems.

Must be a self-starter, enjoy working in a law-firm, and familiar with using legal search tools. Moreover, excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills are important.

All Candidates should be computer literate (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel), responsible, courteous, helpful and customer service oriented. Must be able to operate in a fast paced environment. Should possess knowledge and understanding of California and Federal Civil Procedure and local rules. This is a full time position with a very competitive salary.

Bilingual English / Spanish is a plus.

Certification as a California Notary Public is a plus.
