Data Systems Architect

As a Data Systems Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring proper integration of disparate database systems. You will provide expertise in: data analysis, design, deploying, and management of the firm s data architecture. You will be defining requirements, developing and designing secure architectures, along with developing system wide processes, standards, selecting enterprise wide data products, tools, technologies, and services. You will work closely with the Manager of Data Systems Integration and various support/functional teams to implement the infrastructure and automation required to support the firm s vision and strategy, while accomplishing these and other critical functions: Actively engaging team members to develop frameworks and tools to drive automationCollaborating with members of different technology teams to implement and support strategic efforts, provide constructive feedback, and foster a collaborative environmentWorking cross-functionally with internal teams and vendors to manage the Development Team s strategic goals, with a strong focus on documenting our current processesCoding, testing, and debugging application systems according to specificationsDesigning and developing recommended solutions to data integration needs to support data consistencyStaying abreast of new technologies and participating in training to develop new skill sets as new technology is introduced into the firmHaving the ability to write functional and maintainable code; articulating and demonstrating how to use software development techniques and methods to deliver new platforms and solutionsExecuting projects with automation for day-to-day activitiesSeeing how parts interact with the whole, and designing the technical architecture and implementing the technical solutionSuggesting improvements/new technologies to support new capabilities as required by the businessBalancing short-term versus long-term actions, strategic versus tactical requirements, while continuing to move forward towards the strategic vision; participating in the road map to achieve the vision

As a Data Systems Architect, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Architect must be a self-starter, curious, and not afraid to ask questions and challenge the way things are done today. The ideal candidate must inform, educate, and develop team members, peers, and customers to grow expertise, develop alignment, and encourage collaboration, as well as being able to present your ideas concisely and in an informative manner to both large and small audiences. The Architect should develop technical documentation, diagrams, templates, and be rigorous in maintaining accuracy and relevancy of developed materials. A Bachelor s degree in Information Technology or a related degree is required. A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience with database support is desired. Proficiency with reporting tools (e.g., Active Reports, Business Objects, Tableau) is desired. Strong experience using relational databases (e.g., SQL), and proficiency with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Alteryx) is desired. Experience with data modeling, customization, data conversion, Python, Big Data, and Data warehousing is desired.
