We are looking for a tour guide for our growing private sightseeing tour company. We show families, couples, and friends all over the LA area Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Santa Monica, Venice, and more. You will be showing them all the major and off-beat sites and giving them information about the places as you go. Our clients are well-educated, interesting people from all over the world. They ask a lot of questions and tell you a lot about themselves. You'll have as much fun learning about them as you will doing the tours themselves.
We are looking for energetic, confident people-people who genuinely enjoy and care about spending time with new people. The feedback we get from our clients is usually "We felt like we had a friend in town who was showing us around." That's what we are looking for from YOU!
We provide private tours in new minivans, and our guides do all of the driving. You must be able to multi-task, doing driving, keeping track of where you are and how much time you have left in the day to cover the spots you need to cover in the tour, all with a big smile on your face as you're showing our clients a great time!
Liking kids is a big plus, too. We love actors, entertainers, and/or movie buffs to run our tours.
We pay very competitively because we want the best tour leaders possible. The pay is hourly and with your wages and tips you can expect to earn between $20 and $25 per hour doing our tours. Most of our tours are from 6 to 8 hours; a smaller number are from 3-5 hours.
The work is very seasonal! We are looking for people with flexible schedules who are willing and able to work hard this summer (35-45 hours per week) and then be ready for a drop off to half that in the fall/winter months. The best fits for this job will be people with other flexible work that they can increase or decrease as our work decreases and increases. Our busy periods are the summer, spring break, and the Holidays.
You will be expected to be in town and able to work the entire coming summer season.
No experience necessary as a tour guide. We will train you.
College degrees and spanish speaking are strongly preferred. We want people who are genuinely interested in LA and Hollywood and their histories and what's going on currently in the area (yes that means especially celebrities). We have very high reviews and plan to keep it that way, so our standards are high.
You should have a clean driving record as you will be driving a minivan while you conduct the tour. You must also be willing to take (and pass) an initial and continuing random drug tests, as it is required by the state.
