A well-funded startup based out of San Diego, California, that operates within the DNA sequencing and analytics space is looking to add a Lead/Staff UX/UI Designer with a strong portfolio to their growing team. This role will be onsite, so the ideal candidate will either be located in/near San Diego or is willing to relocate. This role will be responsible for designing the company's software component library and user experience across web applications and instrumentation. Using HTML, CSS, or Javascript, you will troubleshoot and communicate design requirements, and you will be architecting system-wide design solutions that fulfill product and engineering requirements.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis now and in the future. Required Skills & Experience- 4+ years of UX/UI experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences, or Mathematics
- Experience building + managing a design team OR references that support your ability to do so
- Expertise in the use of Figma or Sketch, Zepplin, Invision, or other design apps
- Experience designing for React Applications + working knowledge of Material-UI
- Experience designing for touch screen and responsive web apps, as well as medical or life science devices
- Experience with technical product and project management
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
- Experience collaborating in cross-functional environments
