IRUN4ULTRA is looking for an experienced freelancer podcast producer and editor who can join the team and oversee the podcast production of it's weekly podcast. IRUN4ULTRA podcast team will work closely with the internal team and talent to continue to develop new audio voices and segments, as well as grow the podcast audience.

Job description:

The Podcast producer will be responsible for developing creative podcast presentations. The Podcast producer/edtor will collaborate with other members of the podcast team including research and other PL staff to build episodes around Ultra running stories and guest speakers.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

-Execute the full production of a weekly podcast, from pre-production to recording, editing and publishing.

-Work closely with our editorial team on weekly episodes and interviews that co-exist; strategize optimal episode rollout

-Work with hosts on the direction of the show with the overall goal of growing IRUN4ULTRA's audience

-Book talent interviews and scheduling recording and interview sessions

-Collaborate and coordinate with internal press and audience development teams

-Publishing weekly episode and work across teams for relevant promotion

-Work with as sales and script out ads as needed

-Explore cross promotion opportunities

-Maintain responsibility for podcast studio and equipment while working with other shows' talent and staff

-Ability to work in Manhattan Beach,CA home office

Skills:

Experience producing/editing podcasts (preferably a recurring series)

Knowledge of podcast and programming

Understanding of digital and audio platforms and what those audiences are looking for

Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and across several teams

Job Type: freelance, Part time

Promote the show, the channel, related channels and the company positively on and off the air to maximize the growth of subscribers and listeners.

Conduct studio telephone interviews, including via ISDN/VOIP.

Conduct interviews out in the field with handheld recording equipment and archiving oral parent interviews as part of research process.

Represent the company as a talent on occasional remote broadcasts and outside events.

Actively participate in channel social media activities including Facebook.

Qualifications:

audio editing and producing: 3 years (Preferred)

3+ years of journalism, communications or content creation experience

Experience conducting a wide variety of interviews, and an instinct for good lines of questioning that produce polished, powerful podcast content.

Robust research and writing skills.

Strong on-air presence and voice, presenting a genuine, informed and likable personality with the ability to create topical breaks that are clear and concise.

Knowledge of digital editing software (Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, Hindenburg, Audacity, etc.)is preferred.

Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Candidates with a sample of previous works (either audio or written or both) is highly preferred.
