When you join our team, you'll be part of a special collection of problem solvers, thought leaders, and innovators. Join us and take your place in space.

At Aerospace, we are committed to providing an inclusive and diverse workplace for all employees to share in our common passion and aspiration - to carry out a mission much bigger than ourselves.

The Strategic and Global Awareness Directorate (Project West Wing) provides technical intelligence analysis and research for a broad range of national security space and intelligence community customers. Originally established in 1957 in a highly classified effort to understand the Soviet missile threat, PWW remains an integral and recognized part of the intelligence community.

The United States Space Force (USSF) is the first US military force founded during the digital age. The evolution from the USAF document-based engineering paradigm to the USSF digital engineering paradigm requires new innovations and bold actions. The Intelligence Innovation group within PWW is developing ground-breaking tools and techniques to enable acquisition programs, space operations, and wargamers access to threat data in the digital engineering environment. This will guarantee that decision makers will have comprehensive evergreen counterspace threat intelligence data in order to successfully outpace the threat when constrained by cost and size, weight, and power (SWAP). Additionally, the Intelligence Innovation group develops Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) tools to aid intelligence analysts and provide key insights for space and technical intelligence analyses. This group is designed to be agile to meet the needs of the organization.

This position will be located at Los Angeles Air Force Base.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Work within a small team of innovators developing a Threat-as-a-Service (ThaaS) capability for the USSF which involves database architecting and wrangling.
  • Developing, integrating, testing, and V&V digital models of counterspace threats.
  • Developing the requirements for a Digital Threat Lab to workshop, test, and deploy digital models for ThaaS.
  • Collaborate with authorities to fill intelligence gaps.
  • Performing technical intelligence analyses and detailing the results.
  • Communicating technical briefings to customers and the intelligence community.
  • Some domestic travel may be required.
What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 8+ years of experience in the Aerospace field or other sophisticated technical subject area.
  • General programming experience in at least one of these languages: SysML, python, C, C# , JavaScript, or equivalent.
  • Digital Engineering model development experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly through technical writing and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently and across many teams on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain at least a Top Secret security clearance with SCI access. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance as well as passing a comprehensive background investigation.
How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • Advanced degree from an accredited program in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 5+ years of hand-on experience with digital engineering, modelling, and simulation.
  • Consistent record of innovation through either product development, patents, or peer-reviewed publications.
  • Database architecting experience in SQL, MongoDB, neo4j, or others.
  • Experience developing AI/ML implementations.
  • Knowledge of the counterspace threat environment or experience modeling counterspace systems.
  • Experience leading interdisciplinary teams on long-term projects.
  • Understanding of the aerospace community ethos from contractors and FFRDCs, to government entities.
  • An active SSBI.
