The Aerospace Corporation is the trusted partner to the nation's space programs, solving the hardest problems and providing unmatched technical expertise. As the operator of a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC), we are broadly engaged across all aspects of space- delivering innovative solutions that span satellite, launch, ground, and cyber systems for defense, civil and commercial customers. When you join our team, you'll be part of a special collection of problem solvers, thought leaders, and innovators. Join us and take your place in space.

At Aerospace, we are committed to providing an inclusive and diverse workplace for all employees to share in our common passion and aspiration - to carry out a mission much bigger than ourselves.

We remain committed to maintaining a safe environment for hiring as we look forward to the future of work. Click here for information on Aerospace's COVID-19 directives and safety procedures implemented to keep our workplace safe.

A microcosm of Aerospace, the Strategic and Global Awareness Directorate (Project West Wing) provides technical intelligence analysis and research for a broad range of national security space and intelligence community customers. Originally established in 1957 in a highly classified effort to understand the Soviet missile threat, PWW remains an integral and recognized part of the intelligence community.

Join a small team of intelligence analysts in the International Launch Systems office of PWW to support missile warning, missile defense and other programs. Be the "truth squad" where your influence is only through the relevant data and analysis that you can apply to a problem. Unconstrained by organizational or disciplinary boundaries, identify and solve hard intelligence problems that impact current and future customer missions. Anticipate and articulate future threats, develop and recommend courses of actions. Monitor huge volumes of intelligence data and assessments, become an expert. Work closely with, but independently of, intelligence community and contractor counterparts. Document and defend your results.

This position will be located at the Los Angeles Air force Base

What You'll Be Doing
  • Analyze foreign missile and space launch systems, characterize launch system performance and capabilities
  • Use science and engineering to interpret all-source intelligence data and develop models of missile flight characteristics and signatures
  • Identify and resolve shortcomings in intelligence assessments or inappropriate applications of those assessments
  • Provide threat analysis to support missile warning and missile defense system development, test and operations
  • Develop new analysis methodologies and tools to fuse intelligence data and address data uncertainties and gaps
  • Maintain currency with foreign missile and space launch system developments and collaborate with intelligence community experts to improve threat assessments and models
  • Prepare and present technical briefings and reports and participate in defense and intelligence community technical interchanges
