This candidate will join the Data Management directorate to support the Project West Wing program office in providing computing solutions for data processing, data retention, and engineering activities. Candidate will be offered the opportunity and expected to design and manage the computing infrastructure using industry best practice and from personal experience.

The position will be located in El Segundo, CA.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Interface with US Space Force, US Air Force, and internal Aerospace partners in designing, operating, and maintaining IT infrastructure (local and wide area networks) to support engineering activities.
  • Design and managed Linux/Unix systems in overall local and wide area network infrastructure.
  • Gather computing requirements, design computing architecture, and maintain computing systems for production and development networks.
  • Supports real-world operations in real-time and manages historical archives for analyst reference.
  • Exercise creativity in designing and solving computing requirements in dynamic environment.
  • Apply advanced industry technologies to program local and wide area networks to improve network performance and security.
  • Interface and maintain relationships with counterparts from Aerospace Enterprise Information Systems and customers to provide premiere professional computing services to PWW.

What You Need to Be Successful

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited program in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • 8 years of experience in Linux/Unix administration and IT infrastructure design.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems, automation tools, storage environments, network protocols, and file systems.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc) and industry storage system solutions (NetApp, Oracle Sun Solaris, etc).
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security +, CCNA Security, etc)
  • Willing to travel domestically approx. 10%.
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret with counter-intelligence polygraph security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

  • Masters degree from an accredited program in Computer Science, cybersecurity or related discipline
  • 10-12 years of experience in Linux/Unix administration and IT infrastructure design
  • Industry certifications- RHCSA, RHCE, Oracle Solaris System Administration, CISSP, CISM, VCP
