AM Radio Chief/Lead Broadcast Engineer

Basic Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have expert level skills as well as knowledge and experience specific to the operation, construction and support of high-power AM Radio Studio and RF broadcast systems, their configurations, and uses. Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in AM Radio Broadcast Engineering Support. Demonstrated hands on experience with radio studio operations and familiar working around High-Power Diplex AM Transmission Environments Proven time management skills including the ability to multi-task in a multiple project environment. Knowledge of all FCC/FAA rules and regulations as related to AM broadcasting and associated tower facilities. Project management experience with large scale broadcast operations and transmission facilities. Design/build of transmission site remote control systems. Knowledgeable of the different Audio CODECs used in radio program production and transmission. I.T. skills related to the broadcast plant such as the configuration of network routers, switches, and the installation and termination of Ethernet cables. Experience in the use of specialized electronic test and monitoring equipment including filed strength monitors, impedance bridges, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, broadcast scopes, and transport stream analyzers. Physical requirements and work environment: Ability to climb ladders, work on raised structures and building roofs, operate areal lift platforms, operate forklifts. Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Preferred Education: SBE Certification MUST HAVES: MUST BE COVID-19 Vaccinated to be considered and perform the essential job duties of this role Previous Broadcast Engineering experience (8 plus years) Position will act as the Project Manager supporting the relocation of an operations from one site to another MUST have previous work experience with AM Transmitters/Antennas Ideal candidate will have IT skills and knowledge along with Old School Broadcasting mentality. Duration of position will be 6 months at this time with the possibility of being extended Previous Project Management experience in Tech field

We are searching for a talented and experienced individual to engineer, implement, and administer technology initiatives supporting and enhancing our products and infrastructure. This position will have responsibility for the administration and maintenance of the group's source code management systems and services, provisioning and maintenance of development systems (physical and virtual systems), administration of data archive systems (near-line and tape backup systems), as well as the typical daily systems administration duties associated with a heterogeneous development and production environment. Key Responsibilities Works as a member of the Technology team and the division's Media Operations & Engineering team to implement state of the art Radio transmission and studio systems at our Los Angeles, CA radio facilities. Onsite oversight of a complex AM Diplex directional antenna project with team and vendor collaboration and ability to install broadcast equipment, and RF components. Responds to equipment outages, malfunctions, and related technical problems that affect show production and content distribution at the LA radio studio facility. Performs repair and maintenance on all radio broadcast systems and equipment, such as transmitters, antennas, STL, satellite downlinks, studio equipment, automation systems, generators and backup power systems, telephone system and related equipment. Minimizes loss of service; resolves broadcast and transmitter site facility issues, system outages, malfunctions and related technical problems and perform oversight and maintenance on key systems. Maintains and keeps up all FCC documentation for license compliance, including EAS logs and tower light monitoring requirements. Promotes preventative maintenance as a strategy in maintaining broadcast equipment by keeping accurate records on equipment, performing periodic cleaning and services, and scheduling of major repairs and services as appropriate. Coordinates and / or performs upgrades to system hardware and software; coordinates the activities of technicians involved in the deployment and configuration of the systems, and with vendors on moves, additions and re-locations of systems or equipment. Keeping up to date with industry and changes in technology; participates in evaluating new technologies, systems and techniques for future implementation of systems
