Job Description

This administrative position contributes to Skechers’ success by supporting the Global expansion of Skechers retail stores. Your primary mission is to facilitate the successful ordering, tracking and documenting the retail fixtures for our international stores. The role encompasses collaboration cross-functionally with various business units, oversight of holistic ordering and logistics process; inclusive of order review, purchase orders, determining proper logistics and communicating with all cross-functioning teams and partners relating to the specific orders. Additionally, you will coordinate directly in documenting fixture cost and matrix that allow cost comparison and are the bases for the order information. You will actively be a part of the team that will promote cost savings and budget controls aligned with strategic business needs.

  • Take a comprehensive and committed approach to the work and team. Specifically work with International Partners, Vendors and Skechers International Store Development team and Corporate Office teams.
  • Practice a holistic integration of financial management, organization and creative problem solving as it relates to your specific duties.
  • Takes ownership of order process and uphold a high level of customer service to our International Partners to promote a rapid evolution of a global and enduring brand.
  • Participate in creating highly influential programs and projects with specific and broad reaching applications.
  • Executes fixture, furniture and equipment orders in alignment with leadership goals.
  • Provides clear, effective and timely communication of direction with other team members, partners and vendors.
  • Facilitates resource solutions for work content and workflow with the International Director of Store Design and International FFE manager.
  • Strives to continually drive projects forward in both a strategic and tactical way.

Planning and Execution - Developing strategic and operational plans for purchasing processes, managing execution and measuring results.

  • Contributes to greater business goals along with Store Development, Construction & Real Estate by achieving targeted deliverables.
  • Performs order verification, purchasing, and coordinates logistics within parameters of individual business goals, budgets and market requirements.
  • Prepares, communicates and educates cross-functional client groups and internal team on changes in policies and practices within the organization.
  • Sets schedules with alignment from the International Store Development Team. Communicates dates to team and meets all established deadlines.
  • Adaptability and able to flex within the context of changing priorities.

usiness Requirements - Providing functional expertise and executing purchasing responsibilities:

  • Participates in planning meetings with Leadership, Cross-Functional business owners, Program Management, Operations, etc.
  • Manages the purchasing process by assessing the scope of the project through review of plans and communications with Store Designers and the Director of International Store Design.
  • Requests quotes from fixture vendors
  • Obtains approval to order from partners
  • Prepares and processes purchase orders for internal approvals
  • Communicate approved purchase orders to vendors and coordinates logistics
  • Communicate confirmation of order and logistics to partners and team members.
  • Tracks orders and trouble shoot and communicate anomalies
  • Process invoices for payment
  • Document key functions and archive key information in files in prescribed file management.
  • Executes against store development plan for deliverables for fixtures, furniture and equipment. Ensures all intended items are ordered and aligned to design intent within design drawings.
  • Oversees the Q/A of any outsourced deliverables.
  • Maintains a supply of sample materials for sample boards
  • Maintains a directory of Vendor contact information
  • Maintains a matrix of fixture costs from various vendors

Partner Development & Team Building - Providing partners with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams:

  • Challenges and inspires partners to achieve business results.
  • Ensures partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.
  • Oversees training and development of partners directly and indirectly manages and makes effective staffing decisions and resource allocation with the Director of Store Development.
  • Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members to achieve partner, business and customer results.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment including critical thinking, multiple tasks, and organization.
  • Current knowledge of industry of retail purchasing including furniture and finishes and equipment.
  • Demonstrated abilities in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to balance operational needs and budget objectives resulting in exceptional projects.
  • Ability to execute multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Articulate error issues in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to translate stated accounting practices, ordering procedures and logistic into unique and varied solutions.
  • Knowledge of the general store development process as it relates to, material assembly, construction process, project sequencing, specifications, QA/production and construction administration.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Organizational skills; attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Education (minimum education level, degree or certification necessary): Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Years of experience in specific field or utilizing designated skills (minimum needed to be qualified):2-3 years
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat. 2-3 years.
  • Retail design or development organization is a plus.
  • Experience in purchasing, accounting and vendor management is a plus.

The employee is regularly required to lift a 35 - 40lb dress form for garment evaluations.
