In this position, you will be expected to support the Payroll department through a number of duties including data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. In order to successfully perform as part of this dynamic, fast-growing team, a candidate will need to communicate effectively with both internal team members and outside customers. This Payroll Clerk opportunity is based in the Manteca, California area.Key responsibilities
Correspond with employees via email and phone to garner approvals on timesheets
Build a system of administering and distributing reports
Construct and run custom reports
File, scan, fax, and perform other clerical duties as required
Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
Administer instruction/training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.

Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
3+ years of previous payroll experience
Prior Payroll software experience preferred
Experience with manual payroll
Payroll experience required
In-house payroll experience preferred
General familiarity with union payroll
Proven knowledge of payroll systems for 100-500 employees
Deep understanding of garnishments payroll
Practical knowledge of payroll taxes
Benefits payroll experience
Well-founded grasp of multi-state payroll
Proven ability to quickly learn new systems
Outstanding data entry skills
Strong attention to detail
Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills
