Now coming up on its 30th anniversary, listener supported KZYX (Mendocino County Public Broadcasting) broadcasts music, news, and public affairs programming across the length and breadth of Mendocino County, and into Lake County. The station is the region's primary NPR affiliate.
KZYX went on the air in 1989, thanks to a group of committed, persevering Mendocino County residents in 1989, and has maintained a steady base of enthusiastic members, and an even larger audience base, throughout its history. Indicative of this impressive popular support is the remarkable roster of volunteer producers who have contributed their knowledge, creativity and passion to create three decades worth of unique, high quality, community oriented programming.
