Under general supervision, provides routine paramedical treatment to animals. Cares for animals and assists veterinarian to perform medical procedures; monitors post-surgery animals; maintains and sanitizes equipment and surgical area; completes necessary paperwork.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. One year of experience performing paramedical tasks in a veterinarian office or animal shelter is preferred: or, any combination of related education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill, and abilities, to perform the essential functions of the job.
Must successfully pass criminal history and other background checks.
Licenses and Certifications: A valid California class C driver's license.
The current vacancy is in Animal Care Services, Ukiah. The list developed from this recruitment will be used for a limited period to fill open and promotional, regular full-time, and part-time positions throughout the County, should they occur.
