Permit Sonoma Now Hiring Engineering Technicians! Starting salary up to $27.12/Hour
In the office and out in the field, Permit Sonoma Engineering Technicians perform sub-professional engineering work related to land use and construction. They inspect drainage improvements, grading, cut-fills, sanitation and water connections, non-standard septic systems, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and driveways for code and plan compliance. Technicians also conduct plan review activities for a variety of development projects involving improvement plans, drainage improvements, encroachment, grading, sanitation facilities, and transportation permitting; and issue correction notices. During assigned shifts at the front office counter, they provide customer service support by accepting permit applications and answering technical questions. The ideal candidate for this position has:
Training and experience issuing permits, and inspecting project compliance with plans and specifications
Experience inspecting right-of-way paving and trench work
Knowledge of CA State NDPES and MS4 storm water permit compliance
Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to work cooperatively with the public,
staff, and other agencies
Experience accurately and effectively creating, maintaining, and reviewing construction records and reports
Good analytical and problem solving skills
The ability to work independently and prioritize daily activities
