Join the Sonoma County Water Agency (Sonoma Water) as a Water Agency Maintenance Worker II!

Sonoma Water is seeking qualified candidates to fill two full-time Water Agency Maintenance Worker II (WAMW II) positions in the field operation section at Sonoma Water. Under supervision, WAMW II's perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks involving maintenance, repair, and installation of flood control and river channels; as well as water/wastewater treatment and wastewater collection systems. WAMW II's also operate a variety of motorized light and heavy equipment, light machines, and power tools used in construction, maintenance, or similar work.

Ideal candidates will possess:A California Class A Commercial Driver's License and commercial driving experience

A Grade I or II Collection System Maintenance Certificate issued by the California Water Environment Association

Experience operating heavy equipment

Two years of experience in one or more of the following areas:Vegetation maintenance

Riparian restoration

Maintenance of flood control facilities

Sonoma Water is a special district formed by the California State Legislature in 1949 and is responsible for providing a safe and reliable water supply to its customers in Sonoma and Marin counties. Sonoma Water also maintains 75 miles of flood control channels and provides sanitation services. Employing approximately 230 employees, Sonoma Water consists of six divisions including Engineering and Resource Planning, Environmental Resources, Community and Government Affairs, Water and Wastewater Operations, Maintenance, and Administrative Services.
