Jacobszoon and Associates, Inc. is actively recruiting for an Environmental Technician for our Water Quality Team. This position is based in Ukiah, CA.
Description
The Environmental Technician will provide technical assistance regarding the planning or development of coordinated practices for soil erosion control, soil or water conservation, or sound land use. This position works under the direct supervision of Environmental Analysts, Scientists, or Technical Specialists, is expected to complete work to set timescales, and reports progress, issues, and other pertinent project information to supervisors.
Responsibilities
Field assessments of private properties for compliance with applicable state and county regulations
Field data collection and real time mapping
Watercourse classification
Documentation and/or report preparation for permits or licenses
Map/GIS development
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Operation of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs and 4WD vehicles)
Map creation (Google Earth and ESRI ArcGIS)
Mobile mapping (tablet computer, external GPS, mobile mapping software)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with Gmail and Google Calendar
Education and Experience
Requires a Bachelors of Science degree in restoration ecology, soils, rangeland, forestry or closely related field and six months of relevant professional experience.
