Position: Heavy Equipment Operators “ CA

Pay Range: $32 - $40 /hr DOE

Hudspeth & Associates, Inc. is looking to hire 8 Experienced Heavy Equipment Operators that can start immediately, that are reliable and willing to adhere to all safety guidelines. Were looking for those operators with 3+ years of verifiable experience operating multiple equipment types like Frontend Loader, Track Hoe, Excavators or Mini-Ex, Grader or Blade, Bulldozer, Rubber Tire Back Hoe, Skid Steer or Bobcat, etc.

Equipment Operator positions include Civil Excavation, Utilities Excavation, Site Excavation, Environmental Remediation, or Demolition. Operators must be able to work in a team environment, should be able to read grade stakes and cut to grade +/- .1, can check grade, understand plans, and move dirt efficiently. Must know how to mix and back-fill properly.

These are full-time positions working directly with our company instead of working through a temporary staffing agency (No agency submissions will be accepted). Hourly pay is competitive and based on operator skill, work experience and/or industry certifications. Benefits include company paid portion of Health, Vision, Dental for entire family, Vacation, Sick time, 401K Match up to 4%, and more. Must be willing to submit to and pass pre-employment background and/or drug test.

Desired knowledge, skills and abilities:

- Ability to operate heavy equipment in a safe, productive, and efficient manner

- Perform daily maintenance, inspection, and tracking of hours on utilized equipment

- Perform manual tasks related to construction job sites

- Participate in training and adhere to strict PPE and safety policies

- Ability to take direction from supervisor to complete daily tasks and meet job site goals

- Be a proactive team member to achieve a high quality completed product for our clients

- Bi-lingual English / Spanish is a plus

- CDL is a plus

- Confined Space Training is a plus

- 40 hour OSHA HAZWOPER

Requirements:

- Valid drivers license

- Reliable transportation

- Ability to work in the United States

- Must have verifiable experience with operating heavy equipment in a Civil Excavation, Utilities Excavation, or Environmental Remediation, or Demolition environment

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bending, twisting and turning to complete manual labor tasks

- Some travel may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Experience in operating various demolition shears, concrete pulverizes and grapples.

Read and interpret site-specific safety plans; may be amended daily.

Create, read, and understand Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) documents.

Read and interpret equipment operators manuals.

Read and interpret load charts for corresponding rigging equipment.

Operate heavy equipment or drive trucks.

Operate high reach forklift.

Work in areas of uneven terrain.

Assist in the training of new or less-skilled Equipment Operators.

Read and comprehend: site-specific rules, maintenance instructions, training manuals, Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDS), warning tags, traffic signs and procedure manuals.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Communicate both effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, on the telephone, via two-way radio, and in writing.

Excellent customer relations skills.

Demonstrate a strong work ethic.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide both whole numbers and fractions.

Ability to interpret load charts and to estimate weight.

Maintain a valid drivers license if assigned to operate any Hudspeth vehicle.

Meet the companys vehicle insurance requirements.

Must be physically able to perform job tasks.

Must be able to pass all required training.

Be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and subsequently perform your duties.

Ability to climb and stoop while wearing PPE.

Ability to tolerate the dust and noise which result from the demolition of contaminated buildings or structures, or remediation of contaminated soil.

Ability to demonstrate common-sense understanding.

Education and Experience:

REQUIRED - High School Diploma, equivalent or higher.

REQUIRED - Must have and maintain a valid drivers license.

REQUIRED - Reliable transportation to and from work.

PREFER “ OSHA 40hr HASWOPER

PREFER “ Confined Space Training

PREFER - (4+) years of experience operating heavy equipment associated construction.

PREFER “ Heavy Equipment Operator Certifications
