The Reality Labs Technology Engineering team has the responsibility for taking breakthroughs in core technology and delivering them to market at scale. The Technology Engineering Camera Team seeks an Image Quality Test Engineer who has extended experience in building objective IQ test infrastructure, experiments, and performing analysis.
- Design, setup, and manage Image Quality Lab to guide product bringup with industry standards
- Partner with hardware and software engineers to understand requirements and opportunities for image analysis
- Review, characterize, and perform IQ analysis for novel camera products to bring up especially with regard to camera hardware components (sensors, optics, etc.)
- Triage and debug image quality related problems during development cycles
- Develop and assist lab setup and test equipment for objective IQ tests
- Tool creation for test creation and data analysis in MATLAB or Python
- Bachelors degree in imaging science, color science, or related fields experience
- 5+ years of experience in photography/videography related image/video quality tests
- Knowledge of digital imaging system working principles and best practices
- Experience working utilizing image quality fundamentals and their system drivers
- Experience using best practices in image/video quality tests
- Experience administering image quality metrics and corresponding evaluation methods
- Experience in implementing and debugging image quality testing equipment
- Experience working with cross-functional partners
- Masters degree in imaging science, color science, electrical engineering, or computer science
- Experience with industry image quality test protocols and standards in the market
- Experience with sensor and optics and their evaluation methodologies
- Working knowledge of overall systems interactions in the image pipeline
- Final user experience regards to photography and videography features
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: Photography and videography, imaging lab design and setup, software QA process, camera hardware quality validation, or camera ISP and computation photography features
- Background in lab test and analysis for industry standard metrics
