Facebook Reality Lab Research is looking for upcoming scientists and researchers with great interest in algorithm development and hardware accelerators for machine learning and computer vision applications, new sensing and computing architectures, and algorithm/hardware co-design.
Our internships are twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.- Development and implementation of CV algorithms
- Prototyping, building and characterizing experimental systems and custom hardware
- Algorithm/hardware co-optimization
- Collaboration with and support of other researchers across various disciplines
- Communication of research agenda, progress and results
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Optical Science, Physics or related field
- Experience developing machine learning, depth sensing and computer vision algorithms
- 2+ years of lab experience carrying out independent research
- Programming, simulation and modeling experience with languages such as C/C, Python, Matlab
- Interpersonal skills: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
- Experience demonstrating real-time computer vision systems
- Experience working in machine learning frameworks PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Demonstrated experience via an internship, work/research experience, or widely used contributions to open source projects
- Background in HW/FPGA
- Background in Machine learning accelerator architecture
- Track record of publications with cutting edge research results at conferences and Journals such as CVPR, ICLR, NIPS, ICML, ECCV, SIGGRAPH
- Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
