The Ads Platform and Experiences team is responsible for innovating, building, and supporting the Ads Manager Product and Platform, which is used by millions of businesses everyday for running ads on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, or Audience Network. In this role, you will be at the cutting edge of innovation in the advertising space. We are looking for a Director of TPM to lead a diverse team of Technical Program Managers in charge of developing and managing the core platform and product experiences. In this role, you will be responsible for driving both the initiatives related to scaling the product experiences and the foundational quality for building a large scale enterprise grade product.The ideal candidate for this role will have both deep technical and program expertise that can drive results with agility and leadership. An inspirational team leader who has experience managing large teams and is capable of influencing and gaining support from cross-functional leaders. A successful leader will bring their knowledge of building large scale enterprise products with empathy for building highly reliable, scalable, and performant systems.

  • Define and lead product execution strategy for multiple areas of products and platform.
  • Build and lead a team of TPMs capable of scaling with Facebook through a period of continued high-growth while forging tight partnerships with cross-functional leaders.
  • Demonstrate an ability to structure an organization and optimize it for execution, including attracting top-tier talent and filing out gaps in the existing team quickly to accommodate growth.
  • Manage from the front, prioritize, and drive the bigger mission forward by translating vision into results.
  • Manage, mentor, and grow the existing product technical program management teams.
  • Build and lead an organization with customer focus and effective communication with a focus on decisive, fast-moving solutions, quick and constructive resolutions to conflicts, and a "no barriers" mentality.
  • Serve as an evangelist for the team and overall culture, both internally and externally.
  • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products.
  • Understand Facebook's strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are recognized best in the industry.

  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline or equivalent technical experience.
  • 15+ years of technical product/program management and/or software engineering experience.
  • 7+ years of experience managing teams, including experience managing managers.
  • Experience either in building large scale enterprise product/systems or product at scale.
  • Experience moving technical or engineering programs and products from inception to delivery and experience articulating the impact using metrics, growth examples, return, etc.
