Facebook is seeking a Product Manager to join the Device Computation Platform team, a new product platform team that aims to power privacy-preserving device-based computation across the Family of Apps. On-device computation (ML) enables machine intelligent features to run on users' personal devices, including both model training and inference (eg. prediction/ranking). One approach that is used here, is Federated Learning, which enables devices to collaboratively train global models while keeping data on devices.This is a zero-to-one opportunity to build new device-based ML products as well as establish the underlying product platform that will enable product teams across Facebook, Inc. to build, deploy, and scale complex models on-device rather than on the server.This is an individual contributor role, that focuses chiefly on customers, feature adoption, and strategic execution with long-term management & leadership scope.
- Display strong leadership, organizational and execution skills.
- Is the primary driver for identifying significant opportunities, and driving product vision, strategies and roadmaps in the context of broader organizational strategies and goals.
- Ability to incorporate data, research and market analysis to inform product strategies and roadmaps.
- Leads and motivates a team of engineers and other cross-functional representatives, and maintains team health.
- Understand Facebook's strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are aligned with our mission and recognized best in the industry.
- Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm.
- Build & scale our Device Computation Platform for customers across the company.
- Build end-to-end device-based machine learning frameworks & tooling that increase the productivity & decision making of applied ML teams.
- Ensure end-to-end privacy enforcement that upholds Facebook's commitment on people data use with privacy-preserving AI.
- 5+ years product management or related industry experience
- 5+ years of experience in machine learning products
- Experience driving projects with cross-functional colleagues
- Experience of going through a full product lifecycle, integrating customer feedback into product requirements, driving prioritization and pre/post-launch execution.
- Experience leading a cross-functional team of world-class individuals.
- Experience developing social products, technologies and platforms.
- BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field.
