The AR/VR Team is seeking an experienced Technical Artist to help our content teams. Technical Artists are generally responsible for the technical aspects of art asset development. This entails working closely with Art and Engineering to develop and support the asset pipeline, animation & rigging tools, animation rigs, real-time effects, and materials.This position is full-time and based in Menlo Park.Required Skills:

Partner closely with the engineering and design teams to define and develop content in Unity, Unreal Engine, VR Shell, and other graphic engines

Design, manage and maintain the pipeline from artists and designers through to deployment

Optimize content through enhancing performance and instructing the artists and designers on asset creation, modeling and texturing best practices

Work closely with engineers to implement interactive objects and systems

Partner with cross-functional leads to resolve issues

Responsible for maintaining assets from creation to shipping

Collaborate and iterate based on the team's needs

Develop Maya tools and plug-ins for rigging and animation production

Develop broad technical expertise to assist in a wide variety technical and artistic tasks

Minimum Qualifications:

5+ years experience using Maya Python/PyMEL, C API, PySide/PyQt

5+ years of experience in game development or film as a Technical Artist

Experience collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams

Experience communicating across team members including engineers and artists

Knowledge of character rigging in Maya

Experience in facial rigging

Experience with motion capture

Experience with realtime asset implementation and optimization techniques

Experience working with Unity and/or UE4

Preferred Qualifications:

Content development experience, including shipped AAA games

Prior virtual reality experience

Shader programming experience
