In this role, you'll partner with the Design Manager to ensure projects align with the overall vision and strategy of the organizations and departments this team supports.The candidate will be designing for different organizations within Facebook, but will be focused primarily on the company's internal communications team. Working cross-functionally, partnering with executives, and keeping the creative process moving forward are key objectives of this role. Suggesting more ways of improving existing designs and systems will ensure the candidate is successful. This position also entails art direction for Facebook's high-impact internal and external events and other projects, working with and leading a team of designers to ensure the materials being created are within the brand and of the highest quality. It is crucial for the designer to be proactive, prioritize, delegate to other designers and resources as needed, and read between the lines to achieve buy-in from leadership.This is a full-time position located at our headquarters in Menlo Park, California.Required Skills:
Develop and lead designs for various formats keeping the broader story, message, brand, and top priorities in mind
Adapt to and produce work for different sub-brands and project types in a fast-paced environment
Identify and create compelling visuals from short briefs and meetings with communications partners and executives by asking questions and recognizing areas where more information is required
Monitor business and team goals to ensure projects are in alignment
Proactively make suggestions and develop design systems, processes and drive solutions to problems which allow the team to scale support and impact
Identify potential roadblocks with design projects and find creative solutions
Lead Keynote design for small to mid-scale, high-priority, internal and external events with multiple stakeholders
Lead projects with multiple designers and stakeholders and ensure consistency of visual elements and sub-brand
Use sound judgement to prioritize all aspects of projects and communicate shifting priorities to key stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications:
8+ years experience as a graphic designer or similar creative role
Experience leading a team of creatives resources or doing Art Direction
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite
Experience working directly with multiple stakeholders
Experience managing events similar to company town halls or all-hands
Experience designing presentations
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
Experience owning design projects from creation through implementation
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with C-level executives
Experience using Keynote
Experience designing for 100+ person events
Experience managing a team of designers
Experience working with film and animation
Knowledge of sketch
