2282BRTitle:Sr Education ResearcherJob Description:As educators and policymakers increasingly turn their focus to early learning as a strategy for increasing student success, SRI Education’s Early Learning Program is helping to further understand and increase the effectiveness of policies, programs, and practices for children ages 0-8 and their families. From efforts that help states develop early childhood data systems and assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of home visiting and PreK programs, to those that further professional development for administrators, practitioners, and educators who work with young children and their families, or guide the use of technology in early learning settings, SRI is conducting critical research, developing innovations and providing technical assistance to strengthen early learning outcomes, programs, and policies for all children including Dual Language Learners, children with disabilities and other special needs, and those at risk for delays and behavioral difficulties.For decades, government agencies, foundations, nonprofit and private sector organizations, and school districts have turned to SRI Education to address complex issues in education research, evaluation, policy, program implementation, and technology development. SRI’s multidisciplinary teams develop research-based solutions to improve productivity and the quality of life in school, at home, and in the workplace.We are seeking a senior leader Early Childhood Program Senior Researcher/TA Specialist with strong research, technical assistance, and business development skills to help expand our early childhood portfolio. The successful applicant will already have a funding track record as a PI, Co-PI, or project director with federal agencies (e.g., Health and Human Services, National Science Foundation, U.S. Department of Education), private foundations, and commercial clients. We seek a leader who can develop and execute research strategy, provide state-of-the-art technical assistance, mentor staff, lead multidisciplinary teams, partner across institutions, cultivate business opportunities, and provide leadership in proposal development and project execution. Responsibilities include leading teams conducting studies and evaluations of programs that serve young children and their families and providing training, coaching, and technical support to early care and education stakeholders across the country. This includes designing research and evaluation studies, developing data collection tools, managing data collection activities, conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, writing reports, and presenting findings to outside audiences. Responsibilities also will include leading proposals and broad dissemination efforts, developing and leading new projects, and maintaining client relations.The successful candidate will have a distinguished research background, work well as part of a team, and be committed to improving early childhood education and programs for all children, youth, and communities.Auto req ID:2282BRLocation(s):Arlington, VA, Boulder, CO, Menlo Park, CAOther Requirements:There are no additional requirements for this position.Employment Status:Full TimeQualifications:The candidate should: be a PhD or EdD in early childhood education, developmental psychology, educational psychology, or related field.The candidate will have the following:

At least 15 years of experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis, instrument design, data collection, early childhood development, and early childhood programs.

Must have substantive expertise in a field such as education, public health, special education, early childhood development, or human services.

The candidate will have excellent writing, speaking, and project management skills with proven capabilities writing successful proposals and working effectively in a highly collaborative environment.

We prefer experience and background in issues related to child care and preschool programs, including Head Start and Early Head Start, family support and education services, child welfare, dual language learners, special education, assessment of young children, use of technology to support learning, technical assistance and implementation and improvement science.

Being bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
