Together, we can help people build stronger communities - we're just getting started.Summary: The Wireless Systems Engineering intern will be part of the rural area connectivity projects performed by Facebook Connectivity Labs. The intern is expected to have a proven knowledge of wireless communications (through successful completion of related coursework and projects), which is necessary to help with development of innovative solutions. The ideal candidate must be experienced in PHY/MAC algorithm design and in developing solutions to problems observed in wireless communications. In order to deliver solid results within the internship timeframe, the intern is expected to be self-motivated, focused and hard working.Required Skills:
Providing help in developing inter-cell interference (ICI) cancellation solutions
Contributing to MIMO related algorithm development (including multiuser MIMO and null steering)
Performing coverage and capacity analysis based on UE logs as well as related software
Performing outdoor/on-the-field RF measurements
Performing link budget calculations
Minimum Qualifications:
Solid knowledge of wireless communications theory
Extensive knowledge of OFDMA and MIMO
Knowledge of LTE and 5G NR
Familiarity with RF propagation models
Strong experience with Matlab
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
Preferred Qualifications:
Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
