JOB SUMMARY

The Office Clerk position will provide general clerical support to a Nursery department. This position will provide a high level of customer service to our guests, vendors and employees. Responsibility will vary in general to best fit operational needs.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of two years of office administration experience or equivalent combination of business school and job related experience required. College degree preferred; not required.

Previous experience working in a deadline-driven environment.

Must possess strong organizational skills.

Must have excellent phone skills; good written and oral communication skills; sound grammar and editing skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Ability to proactively prioritize and manage a wide range of tasks while remaining detail oriented.

Must be flexible and able to work in changing environment with limited details or directives at times.

Must project professional demeanor.

Must display initiative; work well independently and in a team setting.

Must possess the ability to adequately set and meet deadlines.

Must be able to work an extended schedule to accommodate business objectives.

Bilingual [English-Spanish] skills required.

Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Some overnight travel required estimated 10-15% of the time.

Must be able to maintain a valid CA Driver’s License with the ability to be insured under company sponsored liability coverage.

JOB REPSONSIBILITIES

1. Provide general clerical support to department Manager and Team.

2. May serve as department liaison in the following processes: Safety, Worker’s Compensation, Payroll and Vehicle Program.

3. Prepare expense reports, assist with accounts payables, reconcile credit card statements and other billing for the department.

4. In a pro-active manner, perform front line outreach to staff supported.

5. Produce department documents such as letters, memos, forms, presentation, proposals and reports.

6. Receive and route telephone calls, take messages when appropriate, receive and route incoming/ outgoing mail.

7. Greet and direct visitors. Provide general information to callers or visitors.

8. Maintain summary lists at the Nursery level of various activities and assets including, required training, vehicles, capital purchases, equipment, injuries.

9. Maintain efficient filing system for department.

10. Book travel, lodging, transportation and prepare travel plans for all staff supported.

11. Create agendas for meetings, tours or programs as needed.

12. Run department errands as needed.

13. Follow Company policies and practices while representing Driscoll’s in an ethical and business-like manner in all interactions with employees, governmental agencies, growers, customers, etc.

14. Ensures the security of Driscoll’s confidential and proprietary information and materials.
