Title: IT SpecialistWork location: Milpitas, CA Duration: 12+ months
Summary:IT Technician must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks, and operating systems. The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.Responsibilities: Working under the supervision of the Proton IT tech lead, the IT technician will be responsible for building and testing servers and workstations following provided instructions. Upgrading and configuring network devices following instructions. Responsible for maintaining the IT lab infrastructure, racking and connecting equipment in order to support various tests. Support other teams like software development, SQE, I&C with various test or troubleshooting issues.Skills: Solid experience building a computer from scratch. Good understanding of basic knowledge of networking. Familiarity with Windows operating systems, building Windows systems, installing drivers, troubleshooting issues. Familiarity with different types of PC and server hardware, console access setup, RAID types. Familiarity with Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DFS, windows file sharing, NTFS permissions. Familiarity with computer cloning or imaging products, preferable Acronis. Basic networking knowledge, TCP/IP, UDP, NTP, firewalls, and layer 3 switches, preferably Juniper. Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, and communication skills Great customer service and interpersonal skills Familiarity with VMWare or other virtualization software is a plus.
