Job Summary

POWTEC Solutions, LLC is seeking an office administrative assistant, titled General Clerk II. This position performs administration support functions for the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in the State of California provided by POWTEC Solutions, LLC.

This is a Services Contract Act (SCA) position and has a Department of Labor designated prevailing wage for each County the work is performed.

The position is Part-Time (16 hours a week) in Livermore, CA and has an hourly prevailing wage of $17.31. In addition, a $4.18 Health & Welfare Benefit is paid per hour. Working hours are flexible to either a couple hours each work day (Monday-Friday) or 2 full days. No overtime or weekends.

This is position supports the Government and requires successfully passing both a Background Check and Drug Screening to qualify. Prior to employment offer, selected candidate must complete skills assessment test.

Must be US Citizen.

Essential Duties and Tasks

3+ years experience supporting an organization in an office setting.

Knowledge and intermediate experience in Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel.

Proficiency in word processing.

Knowledge and prior experience in operating small office machines, such as calculators, fax machines, scanning devices, postage meters and copy machines.

Proficiency with Databases and data entry. Requires detail-oriented skillset.

Knowledge and experience in general office procedures, such as preparing reports, spreadsheets and filing.

Ensure procedural handbooks and manuals are kept current and up-to-date.

Compile and review the accuracy of contract administration supporting documents.

Experience working with the public.

Capable of working independently.

Must be comfortable working in an office that busy seasons fluctuate and will often be required to find things to keep yourself busy. Willingness to take the initiative to offer help to other colleagues.

Possess excellent telephone skills and etiquette.

Knowledge of Arc View, preferred but not required.

Knowledge of general agricultural and conservation programs, preferred but not required.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Knowledge and use of Microsoft Word and Excel is required and possessing good customer services skills.

Understanding and possessing the ability to enter data accurately.

Ability to file and store departmental backup documentation on the computer and filing.

Creation of Word Documents, Excel Spreadsheets.

Ability to follow prescribed workflow processes.

Ability to compile data in a prescribed manner to support reporting requirements.

Customer Service experience.

Qualifications

Valid Driver's License is required

Reliable transportation is required for attendance in this role
