Diesel Mechanic – Fleet Maintenance – Full-Time
Pallet Recovery Service, a full-service pallet manufacturer, located just south of Tracy in Vernalis is offering an outstanding opportunity. Due to our increased business, we are adding to our current staff another full-time position within our rapidly growing company. We are seeking a Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team for fleet maintenance and heavy equipment repairs. Our fleet consists of heavy duty International trucks, as well as forklifts.
Typical repairs include, but are not limited to, preventative maintenance, inspections, hydraulic, fuel, exhaust, brakes, suspension, electrical, HVAC, and emission systems.
Repairs and maintenance would include work on engines, transmissions, chassis, drivelines, hydraulic, brake, electrical, and suspension systems, as well as wheels, tires, undercarriages, and body components.
Must have strong knowledge of:
Diesel Engines
Hydraulic Systems
Electrical Systems
DEF Systems
Invoicing and Inventory Control
You must have a strong knowledge of diesel and auto electrical repair. You must have strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to be able to accurately diagnose and prevent equipment failure. You must be organized and able to work with minimal supervision to complete repairs and maintenance in a timely manner. Most tools provided, own tools a plus. Computer skills are required to research needed parts. It is also imperative that you are thorough and consistent in regard to record keeping, and inventory control. A valid Driver’s License in required, Class “A” a plus. Some weekends will be required on occasion, depending on the needs of the business. Compensation is based on experience and abilities.
