At our company, the dedicated Maintenance Mechanic Helper is in an entry-level position, repairing automated equipment, welding & trucks and maintenance & minor equipment saw line repairs. This knowledgeable individual helps uphold the companys core values by maintaining safety and efficiency.
Overview:
Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.
Major Responsibilities:
Maintain working area and all equipment in clean, safe, working order.
Must know how to operate a forklift and/or power jack.
Follow all instructions and guidelines as outlined by direct supervisor.
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs as directed by direct supervisor.
Make basic equipment repairs according to manufactures specifications.
All repairs to be made in compliance with established lockout/Tag out procedures
Maintain and complete all equipment records in neat and orderly fashion.
Assist in building maintenance projects as needed, i.e. build racks, repair racking, run wire in all areas, do plumbing, carpentry, or run errands.
Assist in cleaning shop when needed.
Maintain tools and equipment in the safest manner possible, pre-trip equipment daily.
Assist in other areas as assigned by location management.

Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools.
Repairs or replaces defective parts, using hand tools and power tools.
Installs special functional and structural parts in devices, using hand tools.
Starts devices to test their performance.
Lubricates and cleans parts.
May set up and operate, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
Observes Current Good Manufacturing Practices.
