Northern California family-owned trucking business seeking a self-motivated independent individual to work with the owner to help foster new and existing business relationships.
We need an energetic individual with a great personality who is willing to take the lead in performing a variety of tasks to help contribute to the growth of the company. The ideal candidate has a logistics background and proven ability for prioritizing, multi-tasking and time management, using good judgement and tact in all situations.
Responsibilities
- Supports management with scheduling/dispatching, safety, administrative and customer service solutions.
- Answers phones in a timely, friendly and professional manner
- Uses dispatch/GPS programs to schedule loads, dispatch drivers, track deliveries and advise drivers on practical and safest routes/Keep customers informed about on-time deliveries and service issues
- Reviews, processes and maintains an influx of customer/company rate confirmations, quotes, PODs/BOLs
- Inputs and prints load records timely and accurately, collect/file/QA driver's daily logs, maintain repair and mileage reports as well as DOT requirements
- Tracks information necessary to properly report customer and DOT issues to management
- Participates in monthly safety meetings
Preferred Skills
- 1+ years in trucking/logistics (sales experience is a plus)
- Experience using dispatch software, MS Excel, Word, and social media platforms
- Flexible, professional, confident, easy to get along with and enthusiastic
- Excellent communication and diplomacy skills, solution driven
- Ability to learn quickly, highly organized, able to multitask and work in a Team oriented environment
- Stable work history
Hours: Mon-Fri (40 hours per week)
