Preschool Teacher and (Infant /toddler teacher)

The Preschool teacher is responsible for assisting the other teaching staff in the care, supervision, health and safety of children in one specific age group or multi-age groupings. Performs duties as planned in co-operation with the teacher in charge in accordance to the guidelines and standards of the National Academy of Early Childhood Program (NAEYC). The teacher is also responsible for the care, organization, and cleanliness of the indoor/outdoor equipment and materials. The minimum educational requirements for a teacher at Rose Nurturing Child care Center and Preschool comply with Title 22 regulation . In order to be considered a fully qualified teacher they must have at least 12 ECE units, and six month experience in a licensed childcare center. CDA credential, or a permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. An infant and toddler teacher must have three of those units belonging specifically to infant care and development.

Essential duties

A teachers essential duties include communicating clearly and tactfully, both orally and in writing, with co-workers, parents and other customers. They are responsible for helping to create and implement lesson plans to nurture and stimulate appropriate development of the children in their care. Supervising and guiding the childrens play activities and encouraging art, craft, and music participation. They will participate in storytelling and reading to the children as well as instructing and aiding the children with eating habits. The teacher will keep the classroom neat and orderly every day, including deep cleaning every Friday. They are responsible for securing the health, hygiene , safety, and overall well-being of all the children in their care. The teacher will also be well versed in the discipline techniques as outlined by NAEYC and Rose Nurturing Childcare Center and Preschool program and must have the ability to nurture respectful relationships with the children and their families.

They will have an understanding and sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of all families and children attending Rose Nurturing Child care Center and Preschool. Assists in the implementation of programs, which encourages parent involvement and development. Teachers are also responsible for reporting any symptoms of child abuse, neglect, abnormal behaviors, injuries, illnesses to supervisor and/or parent as well as maintaining confidentiality of records and information of staff and families. They will also attend staff meetings and training as assigned and may perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

All employees must also provide documentation of a clear TB test and physical exam taken within a year prior to employment, completed Immunization: influenza , pertussis and measles shots , as well as a current CPR and First Aid certificate.
