ABOUT THE POSITION:
The City of Monterey is currently recruiting to fill the Event Coordinator position. The Event Coordinator is a full-time position based in the Conference Center Division of the City Manager's Department. The Event Coordinator is equivalent to a Convention Services Manager in the hotel and convention center industry, therefore, a Certified Meeting Planner certificate is highly desirable. To be successful in this position, the candidate must be highly self-motivated, possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment involving heavy customer service with multiple vendors and must have the ability to work effectively under pressure.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred but not required and a minimum of two years experience in facility management or in the hospitality industry, preferably in catering or convention services.
