The McShane for County Supervisor campaign was established in January of 2019. Following a successful and aggressive primary, Salinas City Councilman Steve McShane is engaged in a runoff in the November general election.
The campaign is seeking to hire a Field Organizer for the general election. The position could be full or part time with reimbursement for mileage and approved expenses. The primary role of the Field Organizer is to manage reaching voters for the general election. This is a terrific opportunity to gain experience, make connections and understand the political process first hand as part of a greater mission to make a difference.
The Field Organizer must be detail oriented, able to work with diverse groups of people and operate at a fast pace. The Field Organizer must be able to handle databases. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important as the Field Organizer is often called upon to represent the campaign publicly and with small groups of people. Proficiency in social media is important. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates is very much desired and a big plus. We are especially interested in candidates from Seaside and Marina. Candidates must have a valid drivers license and access to transportation. The schedule and timing of the work varies and part time work on weekends is likely. Working with the campaign could lead to other opportunities.
