Carmelo Park Assisted Living is seeking caregivers for our elderly residents. Day shifts are available, Friday - Monday. Must be available weekends.

Qualifications:

1. Shall be at least 18 years of age.

2. Good physical health verified by a health screening including a chest x-ray or an intro-dermal TB test performed by a health practitioner not more than six (6) months prior, or seven (7) months after employment. The health screening must have a signed statement affirming that he/she is in good health.

3. Criminal record clearance through use of fingerprints submitted to the Department of Justice.

4. Shall receive on the job training and/or have related job experience in the following:

Housekeeping and sanitation practices.

Skill and knowledge required to provide necessary resident care and supervision, including the ability to communicate with residents.

Knowledge required to safely assist with prescribed medications, which are self-administered.

Knowledge necessary in order to recognize early signs of illness and the need for profession help.

5. Work under the supervision and direction of the Home Administrator or Shift Leader

6. Must be proficient in speaking and writing English.

Duties:

1. Provide all personal care including but not limited to: grooming, hygiene, toileting, etc.

2. Supervise residents to assure their health and safety.

3. Planning, preparing and serving of meals per menu guidelines.

4. Assist resident with self-administration medications prescribed by physician.

5. Report any resident needs or incidents to the Home Administrator or Shift Leader.

6. Plan and implement activities and encourage resident participation in activities.

7. Help prepare residents for transportation to various appointments, as scheduled, and facilitate transportation, as necessary.

8. Maintain neat and sanitary standards throughout the home and grounds.

9. Provide laundry service for resident's personal belongings and for the home.

10. Perform other duties as assigned.
