Job Description - Landscape Construction and/or Maintenance Laborer
Our laborers hold a central position in the year-round construction of our customer's landscapes. Applicants should be competent, physically fit, hardworking and have an interest in landscaping and construction.
Primary tasks for construction laborer:
Planting new trees, flowers and a wide assortment of plants.
Irrigation system installation.
Grading and site preparation.
Masonry.
Primary tasks for maintenance laborer:
Weeding, planting, pruning and watering as well as general maintenance of the grounds. This can include grass cutting, weed control, pond care and leaf raking.
Planting new trees, flowers and a wide assortment of plants.
Making sure that all garden equipment is correctly maintained and serviced. Undertaking the basic servicing and repair of all garden machinery.
Maintain diverse plantings of trees, shrubs, vines, perennials, grasses, and bulbs.
Hand-water and monitor irrigation of plantings, especially during time of establishment and drought.
Perform seasonal landscape work including pruning, clean-up, bulb planting, dividing and transplanting, leaf removal.
Scout for pests and disease.
Monitor extensive irrigation systems for problems.
Qualifications:
Ability to work alone or in groups, in all weather conditions.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Flexibility to work long hours, some holidays, and weekends as necessary.
Occasional travel up to 1.5 hours to a job site.
Valid CA state drivers license.
Ability to handle electric equipment, power tools.
Must be a team-player, willing to collaborate on any and all tasks required for maintaining the highest standards of landscape management and operations.
