Digital Media Specialist: Part-time Position (Monterey)

The Monterey County Vintners & Growers Association seeks a part-time Digital Marketing Specialist. The primary role is to help design, create, and deliver digital marketing programs that support the expansion and growth of Monterey Wine Country and the members of the Monterey County Vintners & Growers Association (MCVGA). As part of the MCVGA team, you'll be a brand advocate using both organic- and paid-social tools, along with your creativity, to inform the world about Monterey Wine Country and our members and why we matter.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Manage MCVGA's digital marketing channels including our websites, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and blog; overseeing daily sourcing, creation, and posting of content messaging.

2. Develop, manage, and design layouts of communications such as presentations, newsletters, event support materials, and brochures - both digital and print.

3. Assist in planning and managing the editorial calendar.

4. Track and maintain site analytics and metrics.

5. Maintain our brand quality standards in all work and keep everything on-message and schedules.

6. Work together cooperatively with MCVGA members and strategically aligned community partners to help leverage marketing efforts.

7. Provide event support, including coordination, set-up, break-down, providing community education, and working at the events.

8. All other jobs as assigned. We have a small staff and a lot of roles. The right person will help with whatever needs to get accomplished with a willing and positive attitude.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience managing successful social media campaigns, and a solid understanding of social marketing.

2. Proficiency in graphics, web advertising, social media, and web development (WordPress) is a must.

3. Superior writing skills, a flair for communicating effectively for social, and demonstrated ability to create engaging and provocative editorial content.

4. Organized, self-managing, but able to work collaboratively with many different people.

5. Able to deal with unpredictable situations, with exceptional problem-solving skills as well as work within tight deadlines, adjust to changes in priorities, and balance short-term needs with long-term strategic initiatives.

6. Able to execute and balance multiple projects, from start to finish independently if needed, and comfortable working in an ambiguous environment.

7. Strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and detail-oriented approach.

8. Proficient in Microsoft Office, WordPress, Google Docs/Sheets, MailChimp, and other desktop publishing software. Helpful to have knowledge of SEO programs.

9. Professional appearance and demeanor.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Must be at least 21 years of age.

2. Must be able to bend, squat, climb, push, stoop, and crouch repeatedly.

3. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods as required by job duties.

4. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.

ABOUT THE PAY & HOURS

1. Part-time: 15 - 20 hours/week in the office

2. Starts at $18/hour
