Western Limited (CA PI lic. #25433), a Detective Agency based in Capitola, is looking for a Background Investigator. This is a full-time position based at our Capitola office, and includes company-paid health and dental insurance. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
The main areas of responsibility are as follows:
Use telephone and computer to access proprietary and public data bases, criminal and civil records, medical and financial information, social media, etc. Sorts investigative findings based on importance and relevance.
Produce a written report of investigative findings in accordance with the company standards.
Manage caseload and provide updates to managers under time constraints.
Work in unison with other departments when directed or as appropriate.
As time and skill set allows, train new employees, and refine procedures.
Required education and experience:
AA/BA or similar college-level certification that required extensive written work. Excellent writing and editing skills are mandatory.
3 years of relevant work experience, although not necessarily in the investigative field.
Skills and abilities required:
Strong Microsoft Office skills.
Effective communication skills.
Self-motivated, focused and trustworthy.
Fluency in languages other than English, especially Spanish, is helpful but not required.
