Embedded Protocol Stack Contractor - Modem This embedded protocol stack consultant will focus on debugging, triaging & correcting modem issues from factory/certification (GCF, PTCRB, IOT, FIT) on Android devices, working closely with vendors. This person will be the POC to support carriers tests, lab/field tests & other internal/external testing activities. This person will be tasked with reviewing carrier requirements, identify gaps between carrier requirements/chipset capabilities, develop test plans for features, end user scenarios and 3gpp use cases.

Scope: • Debug, triage and fix modem issues from factory, certification (GCF/PTCRB/IOT), field performance issues • Develop and execute test plans for optimized connectivity solutions, end user scenarios and 3gpp use cases. • Support and execute carrier tests, lab/field tests and any other internal/external testing activities • Support carrier requirement and carrier compliance

Required: • Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent work exp. • 5+ years of experience with 3GPP/3GPP2 standards. • Experienced with log analysis and know how to operate test box, conducting testing. • Solid background in one or more of the following - Android RIL, Telephony, C/C/Python and/or Embedded RTOS. • Must have hands on troubleshooting experience in cellular protocol stack - Control and/or Data Plane.

Pluses: • Solid troubleshooting experience with wireless technologies - GSM, UMTS, TDS-CDMA, LTE-FDD / LTE-TDD, and 5G • Strong experience in Voice - Including WFC, VoLTE, ViLTE, VONR, and Data Call Performance, System Selection, Power & Performance optimizations, MIPS Optimization and Hardware Accelerators • Solid domain expertise in Cellular Control or Data Plane Protocol Stack • IP Multimedia Core Network Subsystems (IMS) technologies - VoLTE/vt, NAS, RRC, RLC, PDCP, MAC, PHY
