Embedded SW Engineer - IoT Looking for an embedded SW/FW engineer who has experience with or is willing to learn backend SW development as well. This person will be implementing a solution that starts with a fleet of IoT devices capturing sensors and goes to the backend which is processing the data. This will involve using robust design principles to ensure concurrent code that is running reliably on thousands of devices and efficiently on the backend.

Required:
  • Experience working on IoT projects.
  • 5-10+ years of embedded SW/FW development.
  • Experience designing & writing embedded C in order to minimize space & power consumption.
  • Maximize device runtime by reducing GPS, Wifi, LTE & BLE on-air time.
  • Familiarity with at least one embedded OS - Zephyr, Apache MyNewt, ROS.
  • Support, debug & troubleshoot IoT devices remotely to fix bugs.
  • In additional to embedded C must have one of the following - Java, C or Go.
  • Must be excited and willing to learn backend development.

Pluses:
  • Experience working on message passing systems doing stream processing.
  • Interest in defensive coding yielding highly robust code.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Java) & related underlying technologies (App Engine, AWS or other cloud plat.) to analyze device captured data.

Backend abilities are a plus:
  • Design/write scalable code in Java or Go to process large amounts of sensor & location data.
  • Know how to use SQL to persist & retrieve data efficiently
  • Implement microservices based subsystems using gRPC, REST or similar.
  • Google Cloud Platform Stack.
